This colored pencil self-portrait was created based on the painting by Gustave Klimt, "The Portrait of Emilie Flöge." With an altered background from the original, the once organic flowers and shapes are now letter forms that I have created to abstractly spell out the phrase, "The trusted one." This reflects both Flöge's relationship as a confidant and friend of Klimt, but also a role that I often find myself in.
